| 4/21/08 - eMeter Corporation, a provider of meter data management (MDM) enterprise software to electric, gas, and water utilities, announced the launch of its IntegratedMDM Program with market-leading broadband wireless Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) companies Cellnet+Hunt, CURRENT Technologies, Eka Systems, Elster Group, Sensus Metering, and Trilliant Inc.

The IntegratedMDM program formalizes the long-term working relationship that eMeter has enjoyed with all of these industry leaders. Under the program, each of the AMI companies independently agreed to cooperate in the integration of their AMI technology with the EnergyIP software. "An independent MDM, one that is committed to remaining open to multiple AMI systems and ensures interoperability, is an important first step in AMI implementation," says Ed White, eMeter Board Member and former Founder and CEO of UTS. "eMeter has the same philosophy that I had when we developed MV-90 at UTS to support communications protocols for all meter manufacturers. This open system approach was the key for the utility industry to move forward with deployment of electronic meters for commercial and industrial customers." The eMeter IntegratedMDM program was initiated to assure that eMeter and participating AMI technology companies will support utilities' choice of new and exciting AMI capabilities as they are developed. The program consists of the following elements:
- Interoperability. The parties ensure that eMeter's MDM will interoperate with the participating broadband wireless mesh AMI technologies.
- Independence of MDM and AMI Systems. The parties recognize the advantage that an open, independent MDM offers utilities who can select from the participant's offerings now and in the future.
- Integration Planning. The program includes ongoing development cooperation and release planning between eMeter and the AMI companies covering existing and future functionality.
