| 8/7/09 - AirTight Networks announced that
Gartner, Inc. has rated AirTight "Positive" in Gartner's
2009 MarketScope for Wireless LAN Intrusion Prevention Systems report. The
July 2009 report was authored by John Girard, VP, Distinguished Analyst and
John Pescatore, VP, Distinguished Analyst at Gartner.
Vendors were evaluated on five criteria -- customer experience, offering
(product) strategy, overall viability (business unit, financial strategy,
organization), marketing execution, product/service. AirTight was rated
"Positive."
According to the MarketScope report, "As new wireless technologies emerge,
the overlay systems will provide the most flexible approach for rapidly
incorporating monitoring and intrusion prevention." The report goes on to
say, "Also, as the use of WLANs becomes increasingly mainstream,
vulnerability-seeking attacks will increase and intrusion prevention
capabilities will be used more. So, although the WIPS market has reached
the early mainstream phase, it continues to be a dynamic market where new
features are needed with each product release."
"Our patented technology has proven over and over again that security and
simplicity are not mutually exclusive. At AirTight we take pride in
delivering new products and features to our customers ahead of emerging
threats. AirTight was the first and only WIPS vendor to introduce wireless
scanning and compliance as SaaS and first to market with a backward
compatible 802.11n sensor platform," said David King, Chairman and CEO of
AirTight. "Because of this, organizations of any size can take full
advantage of wireless technologies for driving business value without
compromising performance or security."
AirTight is committed to providing customers with solutions which fit their
budgets and allow them to address emerging threats and new government
compliance or industry regulations such as the recently released PCI DSS Wireless Guideline . This Guideline specifically
requires all networks which process, transmit or store card holder data to
scan all locations at least once per quarter for wireless threats. For this
reason, AirTight offers four levels of on-demand PCI wireless scanning
solutions to help customers meet and exceed the PCI DSS wireless
requirements.
"Gartner's thorough analysis of technology markets and unrivalled
reputation makes their MarketScope reports important benchmarks for any
vendor. We believe this "Positive" rating from Gartner solidifies
AirTight's continuing leadership and innovation in the market and our
commitment to developing products and services that keep our customers'
networks and data secure," continued King.
The AirTight SpectraGuard solution family has achieved industry leadership
based on patented technology that blocks wireless threats immediately and
automatically, locates wireless devices and events with pinpoint precision
and eliminates the false alarms that plague busy network operations and IT
professionals.
Both its onsite WIPS product, SpectraGuard® Enterprise and its on-demand
hosted vulnerability management service, SpectraGuard Online are low touch
solutions providing easy deployment and automated scanning and reporting
with little human intervention.
